The Global Legal Entity Identifier Foundation (GLEIF) is a non-profit organisation based in Switzerland dedicated to the implementation and use of legal entity identifiers (LEIs).
GLEIF is supported and overseen by the Regulatory Oversight Committee representing public administrations from around the world which have joined forces to work for greater transparency in the global financial market.
GLEIF manages a network of entities which issue LEIs, known as Local Operating Units (LOUs); it sets standards for services provided; and offers public data which uniquely identify legal entities from around the world.
